This book of short and beautifully illustrated essays, written by leading and emerging Poe scholars, illuminates the life and work of Edgar Allan Poe through a group of twenty objects. The objects, from the Susan Jaffe Tane Collection, include some of the magazines, newspapers, and books where Poe’s work was first published, as well as artifacts that help us understand his family history, his romantic relationships, and his victories and struggles as a writer.
